Canadian Galaxy A5 (2017) now receiving Nougat update

Last month, Samsung started sending Nougat update to Galaxy A5 (2017). The first country to receive Nougat update on Galaxy A5 (2017) was Russia. If Canadian users were disappointed at that time, that they didn’t receive the update, it’s time to rejoice.

Samsung has started seeding Nougat update to Canadian users too. The OTA update is currently rolling out and weighs around 1319 MB. It arrives as version number A520WVLU1BQl1.

Android 7.0 Nougat brings quick app switching (double tap the recent key to go to the last app), split-screen mode, revamped notification shade and quick settings.

Apart from that, the update also brings better battery life and efficient space for installation of downloaded apps. You can also expect performance improvements from the update.

Since the update weighs 1319 MB, it is recommended to download it via Wi-Fi network so that you don’t incur high mobile data charges. Also, keep your phone battery above 50% while installing the update.

You can check for the update manually by going to Settings – About – Software update.
