Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus Nougat update rolling out in Canada with build N920W8VLU4CQC9 and G928W8VLU4CQC8

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in Canada are currently receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. All major carrier variants of these devices are getting the update via OTA.

Earlier this month, the Verizon and AT&T Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus also received the Nougat update. In Canada, carriers including Virgin, Videotron, Bell, Koodo mobile, Sasktel, and Telus, are all seeding the update to the Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus.

The Galaxy Note 5 is receiving the build number N920W8VLU4CQC9, whereas the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is getting the build number G928W8VLU4CQC8. These builds will most likely also install the latest Android security patch.

Before you download and install the OTA update, make sure your device is sufficiently charged(above 50 percent), and is connected to a stable WiFi network. This is a major update, and will weigh more than 1GB in size.

  1. late but better than never!! samsung is really kicking the updates, not only for flagships but also for the midrange devices, even the 2yr old note4 got the update recently!!

  2. S6 is a phone that I have found to have aged really really well. I started respecting the galaxy S line after S6. S5 was a band aid. S4 was blown out of the water by HTC M7. S3 was average to say at best. S2 however was a big deal.

  3. Also, heads up editors, the tweet share link exceeds 160 characters. Hope that helps

  11. The update for the S6 edge was expected earlier and took a while .Users might have moved to the s7 if they were looking for Nougat I guess .
