AT&T releases new OTA update for Nexus 6 and LG V10, fixes Blueborne security patch

It is very important for carriers and OEMs to push a security patch for BlueBorne attack vector. While many devices have already received the patch, two devices from AT&T are now receiving the BlueBorne security patch. We are talking about Nexus 6 and LG V10 at AT&T.

The Nexus 6 update weighs 25MB and arrives as version number N6F27M. It also brings the latest October security patch to Nexus 6. To recap, the last update that arrived in September brought September security patch and had version number NGI55D.

On the other hand, LG V10 update raises the version number from H90021z to H90022b. It weighs 48.3MB and as already mentioned brings the BlueBorne security patch. The update also applies the October security patch to LG V10. The last update that arrived on LG V10 was in March, so basically this one contains security patches from April to October 2017.

However, the device is still on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. It hasn’t received the Nougat yet and obviously will not taste Oreo either.

If you haven’t received the update yet, go to Settings – About – Software. It is advisable to keep phone battery above 50% while installing the update.
