Apex Launcher for Android updated with Android 4.2 crash fix

While Nova Launcher was only having a few problems on Android 4.2, its competitor, Apex Launcher, was failing to launch (no pun intended) at all on the new Android version, which rolled out to Google’s Nexus devices yesterday. However, hot on the heels of the update to Nova Launcher, Apex has now received an update to version 1.3.4 fixing the crash, along with a few other fixes and features.

Here is the full changelog for the update:

  • Added option to close drawer after launching apps
  • Added option to toggle home screen alpha effect (leave it off for smoother transitions)
  • Improved icon label handling (labels will not be cut off or hidden automatically)
  • Fixed FC under Android 4.2
  • Various bugfixes
  • Updated translations

The fix for the crash for Android 4.2 is no doubt the most important part of the update, and will make fans like me who swear by the third-party launcher quite happy. However, do note that all my homescreen settings were wiped and reset after the update, which I hope was a one-off case and won’t happen to everyone.
