Asus finally releases Android Pie for original ROG Phone

Asus ROG Phone update

While the rest of the world is preparing for or already enjoying Android 10, Asus has finally rolled out Android 9 Pie for the original ROG Phone. The device is not at the top of Asus’s priority list, but releasing a crucial Android update more than a year after its initial release is nothing short of blasphemous.

The update, which carries software version 16.0410.1910.91, brings almost all of Pie’s standout features, such as Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery, status bar icon manager, and Digital Wellbeing. Features like Page Marker, ZeniMoji, report Location in Safeguard, weather animation setting, and AI charging have been removed, while Game Center and Game Genie have been given a facelift.

As always, Android 9 Pie is being pushed out as an incremental update, so, it could be a while before you get the update in your region. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > System > System updates.

Here’s the complete changelog:

  • Upgraded system to Android P
  •  Removed Page Marker, ZeniMoji, Report Location in Safeguard, weather animation setting, AI charging
  • Removed the Yandex cloud option of File Manager Application
