Stoke your foodie instincts with the Foodster app.

Getting recipes from the internet can be a hit and miss experience most of the time. Most recipe databases, barring a few, offer blandly written instructions and often do not have any pictures which show you what the final product looks like. Finding the right recipe with pics and well written instructions can be a task, to say the least.

Foodster, a brand new recipe app by Matthew Reilly aims to change that with its well-designed and well presented interface which lets you search up to 10,000 recipes with pictures. And if you were thinking this is just another recipes app, Foodster does a lot more than just recipes.

Foodster lets you keep and maintain shopping lists as well and you can even dump all the ingredients from a recipe straight to a shopping list. Recipes can be searched using keywords, as well as names of ingredients. And the best part is that recipes that you have starred can be synced across multiple devices. So you can prop up that Nexus 7 on the kitchen table while you chop and stir away at your masterpiece.

There is also a meal-builder feature which I found particularly useful. It lets you create wonderful meals from leftovers and ingredients that you have in stock. Handy feature to have around to make sure no food goes wasted. You can easily share your favorite recipes on Facebook and Twitter and show off your cookery repertoire to your friends.

Foodster is optimized for tablets and costs $2.49 on the Play Store. If you are a foodie who loves rustling up new dishes and experimenting with different cuisines at home, hit the Play Store link below to get Foodster.
