Sprint Optimus G Specs [Official]

The quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro-powered LG Optimus G has been made official for the US in a press release by LG, where they announced that the device will be available in the States on Sprint’s 4G LTE network.

The Optimus G is notable for being the world’s first LTE-enabled quad-core smartphone and one of the first to be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon Pro, and has already gone on sale in South Korea, and now Sprint has been announced to be one of the carriers that will offer the smartphone in the US. Apart from being extremely powerful and fast, the Optimus G includes many intuitive software features, like the ability to use the phone as well as stream video from it to a TV, the QSlide Function which allows two apps to be displayed on the screen at once, or the ability to live zoom while watching videos.

Here are the official specs announced for the Optimus G on Sprint:

  • Advanced 13 MP or 8 MP rear-facing camera with Time Catch Shot, “cheese shutter” and Smart Shutter and Low Light Shot Noise Reduction
  • 1.3 MP front-facing camera
  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro processor with 1.5GHZ Quad-Core Krait CPUs and LTE, 2GB RAM
  • 32 GB of memory or 16 GB of on-board memory and microSD slot pre-loaded with a 16GB SD card that can accommodate up to 64GB of expandable memory
  • 4.7-inch WXGA True HD IPS Plus Display (1280 x 768 pixels)
  • Display technologies including Zerogap Touch
  • 2,100mAh battery
  • Bluetooth® Version 4.0

The press release doesn’t mention whether Sprint will get the Optimus G with a 13MP or 8MP camera, but we’ll hope it’s the former for the sake of all the camera buffs out there. No release dates or pricing info was given, but stay tuned for those details in the near future.

Any of you buying the LG Optimus G from Sprint when it’s available?
