Taiwanese PC hardware and smartphone maker, Asus, didn’t have a stranglehold in the Indian smartphone market up until last year when it launched the Zenfone Max Pro M1. Asus, reportedly, sold over a million phones in under six months of its launch, though. Needless to say, the company is now eyeing even greater success in India with the launch of its successor, the Zenfone Max Pro M2.
Today, few juicy details about not only the ZenFone Max Pro M2 but also the ZenFone Max M2, were revealed.
If famous tipster, Roland Quandt’s words are to go by, then the Zenfone Max Pro M2 is set to launch soon in the Indian market. But what catches our eye is the claim that it features a tri-camera setup at the rear.
Reportedly, there are multiple variants of the ZenFone Max Pro M2, which is being identified as model no. ZB631KL (ZB634KL for India).
ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 ZB631KL = 6in FHD+, 13MP, 4GB RAM, 64/128GB. Snapdragon 660 (SDM660), Triple Cam
ASUS ZenFone Max M2 ZB633KL = 6in FHD+, 13MP, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB. Snapdragon 636 (MSM8953), Dual Cam
ZB632KL (non-Pro), ZB634KL (Pro) are likely India specific variants

ZenFone Max Pro M2 Specs
The ZenFone Max Pro M2 may also sport a bigger 6-inch FHD+ screen with a notch at the top along with a 13MP sensor at the back (one of the three, probably the standard one). It is also expected that the Max Pro M2 will house a Snapdragon 660 processor, and will come in a configuration of 4GB RAM coupled with 64/128GB storage.

Currently, the cheapest phone in India with a tri-camera setup at the rear is the Samsung Galaxy A7 which costs INR 21,000. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, however, is expected to be priced significantly cheaper, at a starting price of around INR 15,000 since its main competitor in India is Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 6 Pro.
The official specs, the timeline of availability, and exact price info are unavailable at the moment but Asus seems to be headed in the right direction by enticing price-sensitive Indian customers to the lure of multiple cameras and big screens at an attractive price. However, with competition rapidly increasing in this price segment, it is only us consumers who ultimately benefit!
ZenFone Max M2 Specs
This is a non-Pro model, one that could be labeled as ZB633KL (ZB632KL for India).
The ZenFone Max M2 will also pack a 6-inch display, a 13MP standard sensor (one of the two) at the back, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB storage, but will be powered by the Snapdragon 36 processor.
Given the expected price of about 200 USD for the ZenFone Max M2, the specs don’t sound bad at all.
