Sony Xperia Z4 set for unveil at MWC on March 2!

Okay guys, we know you know that March 2 is Samsung Galaxy S6 Day, same as March 1 is HTC One M9 Day, then why would Sony want to jump between these two huge announcements for its Xperia Z4? It would seem wise to keep a distance of a day or two from the two biggest launches of the year. No?

Well some things. Recent reports indicated that Sony is looking to ditch the six months flagship release cycle in favor of yearly one, so could launch the Xperia Z4 in July, in contrast to traditional March release of its handsets.

But then again when we hear that Sony is gracing the MWC, and that too, on March 2, we can only guess it’s ready to unveil the Xperia Z4 but would only release it later than Samsung and HTC, along with LG G4 perhaps. Early announcements followed by three-month later release are not bad, it gets OEMs attention and creates the first-device-of-the-year-with this or that sort of hype — we’ve already seen Xiaomi use similar release arrangement for its 2015 flagship, Mi Note Pro.

Specs-wise, Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to feature the octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3/4GB RAM and 5.2″ display that will rock either of Full HD or Quad HD resolution. There is a possibility of two variants, in which case, one would be Full HD one — Xperia Z4 Compact looks likely with 3GB RAM — with the bigger sibling featuring Quad HD res, and 4GB RAM.

And btw, reports of yearly release could be wrong. And if they are right, March/April is a good time to release your yearly flagship, followed by a bigger sized flagship in September/October, if we’re to read from Samsung’s books.

If Sony decides to launch Xperia Z4 in March/April, a bigger Xperia Z4, on the lines of HTC One M9 Plus and Galaxy Note series, would make more sense. What do you think?

Btw, the image above was leaked from the massive Sony hack, that involved some bits of the upcoming James Bond flick, Spectre, wherein the Xperia Z4 will make an appearance.
