Sony Xperia Z4 preps up for Release, gets certified in Japan

Sony Xperia Z4 Release Details

We really don’t have much going on as regards leaks and rumors about the Sony Xperia Z4, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any work going on behind the scene. In fact, Sony is readying the Xperia Z4 up for release, the test units having already impressed the Japanese Telecommunications ministry. A device getting certified at FCC or the like is one of the first signs we get about its release. As the case is with Sony devices, these get certified in Japan first, mostly followed by FCC in U.S.

There will be three variants of Xperia Z4 in Japan, all supporting LTE (as also VoLTE), one each for NTT DoCoMo, KDDI and Softbank. After no talks about a flagship at CES, we expect Sony to make an announcement about the Xperia Z4 at MWC (March 2-5), where we will definitely see at least one flagship for the year as HTC already looks all geared up.

The Sony Xperia Z4 should be released globally by the company in March-end or early-April later this year, but our friends in U.S. might have a long wait as Sony generally leaves it late there. Mostly, this has to do with carriers, but let’s hope Sony does better this time around.

Unlike other flagships, Xperia Z4 rumors are surprisingly scarce. There’s been decent amount of chit-chat going on for other upcoming greats like LG G4, HTC Hima (one M9) and Samsung Galaxy S6, but almost-nothing for Xperia hardcores. Last month, we got the glimpse of Xperia Z4 thanks to a leaked render, followed by rumors talks of two variants of the Z4, one with Quad HD resolution and another with Full HD. Yep, sounds like Xiaomi Mi Note Pro and Mi Note, only we think that Full HD one will be known by the name of Z4 compact.

And that’s that about all we know of Xperia Z4 for now. Anyway, stay in touch for more rumors and released date details regarding the Xperia Z4.
