Sony rolled out the Android 5.1.1 update for its Xperia Z3 recently, and here we have the 5.1.1 update in both stock FTF format and also TWRP flashable zip format which is pre-rooted and comes with a TWRP recovery inside it, so that you don’t lose your favorite recovery when you flash the zip.
Do note that in case of pre-rooted firmware, you must already have a TWRP already installed on your Sony Xperia Z3.
While, for stock Android 5.1.1 firmware in FTF format, nothing is required as you can just install it using Flashtool PC software.
The rest of this article below is for pre-rooted 5.1.1 ROM with TWRP recovery.

Step by step Guide
Required? Make sure you have TWRP recovery installed on your Xperia Z3. If not, then find it here.
Step 1. Download the ROM file from above.
Step 2. Transfer the ROM file to your Xperia Z3. Remember the file’s location.
Step 3. Boot your Xperia Z3 into recovery mode. If you are rooted, you can use Quick Boot app from play store.
You should see TWRP recovery once you boot into recovery mode. If not, then install TWRP first using the link provided before the beginning of this guide.
Step 4. Wipe your device’s data to prepare it for installation. This will delete your apps and data, so make sure you have backup made.
On TWRP, choose Wipe menu, and then under advance wipe, select Data, Cache, Dalvik Cache and System. Don’t select internal sdcard. Then, do the swipe action at bottom to do the device wipe.
Step 5. On TWRP recovery, tap on Install > locate the ROM file and tap on it. Then do the Swipe action at bottom to begin flashing the 5.1.1 update on your Xperia Z3. The update will start installing, just hang on.
Step 6. When it’s done, wipe cache again by tapping on wipe cache/dalvik cache button.
Step 7. Next, tap on Reboot system button to restart your Xperia Z3 and check out the Android 5.1.1 update now.
That’s it. Once the device finishes rebooting, you will Samsung’s official Android 5.1.1 code for T-Mobile Xperia Z3 running coolly on your global Xperia Z3, G900F.
