Sony Xperia XZ Premium gets its first update with June security patch

The Xperia XZ Premium from Sony just received its first ever update in the form of the June security patch. The update contains various performance improvements, stability upgrades and fixes for few bugs and issues present on the previous build.

The update arrives as software version 45.0.A.5.1. The version of Android is obviously Android 7.1.1 Nougat. If you haven’t already received the update notification yet, try checking in Settings » About phone.

Before downloading the update, ensure that your device has sufficient charge of at least 50% and download the update over WiFi so as not to incur any additional charges. But more importantly, back up all of your important data, files etc. safely onto your PC in case the installation process gets stuck.
