Sony recently announced a bunch of new headphones and earphones at CES 2018. These new products come built-in with Google Assistant. However, according to the company, some older headphones will also get support for Google Assistant with a future update.

The new hardware from Sony, the WF-SP700N, and the WI-SP600N both come with Google Assistant. They also previewed the new headphones at CES and it seemed to work pretty well. So, in a press release, the company mentioned that older headphones will get the support via a firmware update.

Sony Xperia XA2, XA 2 Ultra, and Xperia L2 now official

Some of the older models that will be getting Google Assistant include; WF-1000X, WI-1000X, WH-1000XM2, the WH-CH700N and also the h.ear on 2 WH-H900N. If you’ve got any of these models, then you’re in luck. These are all headphones and earphones that were released last year.

With Google Assistant enabled on these headphones, you will be able to hear notifications, news, and other information right in your ear. Also, Assistant makes it easier to do a lot of things such as playing a song, making calls, searching for a business, and much much more. Definitely a good move by Sony.
