Sony releases video showing the Xperia Z3 with Android Lollipop 5.0.2

Sony has always been known for keeping its device software up to date. As expected, the Xperia M4 Aqua and the Xpeia Z4 Tablet — which were both launched at the MWC just yesterday — both run the latest version of Android Lollipop. However, while we already more or less expected the software to perform well on these devices (considering that the manufacturers already had plenty of advance warning) as a whole bunch of videos over at YouTube testify, what we did not know was how Sony’s older hardware, which have started receiving the Lollipop as part of a software update would do.

Well, a video released by the Japanese company at the MWC promises to clear our doubts. The video exhibits the Xperia Z3 running the Lollipop with a build number 23.1.A.0.632 and to be honest, we like what we see.

The icons and the notification panel seem to have under gone a quick bit of renovation. Also, flicking on the left side of the screen seems to bring out a panel with options for re-arranging or uninstalling your apps. The music app and the navigation buttons also look significantly different and there is a useful little panel titled “Quick Setting” just above the notification panel.

All in all, if the navigational speeds are any indication, the latest version of android is feeling quite at home in the Xperia Z3. Do stick around as we bring you more on this including the release dates.
