Samsung is indeed bringing back the flip phone. After receiving verification from WiFi Alliance, the company’s upcoming flip phone has landed at US certification site FCC hinting that Samsung is getting closer launching it.
The FCC has listed the flip phone as model number SM-G9298 which is the same device carried by WiFi Alliance earlier. Also, the 2015 Samsung flip phone model number was SM-G1298 providing further credence to the fact that indeed the device that has turned up on FCC is a flip phone.

Now, the FCC listing does not help us in getting a peak at the specsheet and neither does WiFi Alliance. So, as of now all we know is that Samsung’s upcoming flip phone will run Android Marshmallow. In all likelihood, the new Samsung device will have a dual-screen.
Last year in November Samsung launched W2017 in China, which is a high-end flip phone from China. New reports have arrived hinting that the Samsung W2017 will indeed be launched in markets outside China and that the smartphone will will be made available in Korea soon.

The W2017 has two 4.2-inch Super AMOLED displays, one internally and one externally of FHD resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and houses 12MP rear camera, 5MP selfie shooter. Power comes courtesy a 2,300mAh battery.
