Samsung’s first quadruple camera phone might be A9 Star Pro

Samsung has scheduled a press event for October 11, which so far has pretty much been shrouded in mystery.

The company has teased only the line “4x fun” in anticipation of the what we assume it’s going to be a smartphone unveiling. It has been speculated that this cryptic phrase means Samsung is gearing up to unveil a phone with a tri-camera setup on the back (+selfie camera=4) or with a four-camera rear arrangement.

Since the Galaxy A7 was already announced with a primary tri-camera module earlier this month, this only leaves the theory according to which Samsung will launch a handset with four cameras on the rear.

This hypothesis is reinforced by the folks of AllAboutSamsung who are claiming that this device will be the Galaxy A9 Star Pro. The publication has even posted a concept render showing what the phone might end up looking in real life. As you can see they have imagined a vertical camera setup on the back.

If the report is correct, the Galaxy A9 Star Pro should arrive with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood.

The source also reveals info on the unique camera setup that will allegedly consist of a 24MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle camera (120-degree field of view), 10MP telephoto lens and a secondary 5MP telephoto lens. The selfie shooter is said to be of 24MP variety (Sony IMX576).
