Looks like we may finally have a release date for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Oreo beta. A new report states that Sprint USA will be releasing Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for the S8 and S8 Plus on October 31st.

The Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus are the latest flagships from Samsung, and are yet to get the Android Oreo update. Recently, Samsung Turkey confirmed that the updates will start rolling out in January 2018. It would first start with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, followed by the Note 8, and then the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Samsung is going to be pretty late to the game, as other manufacturers have already started public beta testing of the Oreo update. For example, OnePlus recently released the Open Beta for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Nokia is also testing Android Oreo for the Nokia 8, with registrations open for the beta program. And other devices will follow suit.

Once the Android 8.0 Oreo beta update is released in the US, the rest of the world should also get it soon after. We’ll let you know when the update is live.
