Samsung is seeding a new security software update for the Galaxy J7 Prime. The update installs the latest February Android security patch on the device.
Apart from installing the security patch, the update seems to do nothing else. There probably are some minor performance improvements, but that’s about it. The build number for the update is G610FDDU1AQA2 and it’s available as an OTA.
The Galaxy J7 Prime is a mid-range smartphone that was released in September last year. It features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, an Exynos 7870 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.
There’s a 13MP camera at the back and an 8MP selfie shooter, it has a 3300mAh battery, and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. We believe the device might be updated to Android Nougat, but a release date is not known.
As always, before installing the update, make sure the smartphone has more than 50 percent charge and is connected to a strong WiFi or cellular network.
