Samsung Plans another QWERTY phone, the Galaxy Q to Compete with Blackberry in US

Samsung Galaxy Q Android QWERTY

You can’t have a second opinion of Droid’s success and the fact that a QWERTY keyboard is a most welcome addition to an even otherwise good phone. While Samsung’s lineup of android phones is dry of QWERTY phones, leaked pics Galaxy S Pro with keyboard looked really good. But now it seems that that was only a signal of what’s coming next. Enters Samsung Galaxy Q.

Samsung has just revealed that it plans to add another phone — one that features a full QWERTY keyboard — to its Galaxy saga of devices (anybody bored of these names, take it to Samsung directly!) by the end of the year, headed to US, to compete with Blackberry which holds a mammoth 40% market share in smart phones.

Samsung’s got some real big aspirations here as they look forward to surpass HTC too, by targeting sale of 18 million smart phones. Well, shortage of components made by Samsung that impede HTC sales (we’re talking about Droid Incredible and HTC EVO) will surely help Samsung achieve its target, no? NO, actually. It’s big company that won’t wanna lose the profit it makes on selling components which is its core business. No?

We know Galaxy S Pro is a Sprint’s second baby with 4G wings while Samsung Captivate (re-designed Galaxy S) is AT&T’s best android offering, then who can we wager for adopting Galaxy Q? Verizon? T-Mobile? Anybody in?

Oh, we know you are hungry to taste some leaked pics and rumored spec-sheet, so are we. But bear with us, till then, when we get our hands on any of them.

The launch, that’s year end, when we’ll have Motorola’s 2Ghz processor android phones in line (as rumored). So, can we expect Samsung to deliver a dual core 1.5/2.0 Ghz processor in Galaxy Q, with Gingerbread. Don’t remember Gingerbread, oh come on, it’s version 3.0 of android which is totally focused on improving the User Interface (UI) of your android phone heavenly. TOTALLY!
