Samsung Galaxy Tab E with a low-end spec sheet launched for $225

Last week, the Galaxy Tab E was leaked showing its relatively low-end specifications. Now, the firm has announced this device officially in the Taiwanese market. For the price point of $225, the specs and hardware of this tablet seem disappointing.

Detailing on its technical specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E is bestowed with a 9.6 inch TFT LCD display that carries a screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Under its hood, the smartphone employs a 1.3 GHz quad core Spreadtrum SC7730SE processor that is supplemented by 1.5 GB of RAM.

For storage, the Samsung slate bundles a moderate 8 GB of default memory capacity that can be expanded further using a micro SD card. The battery capacity of the Galaxy Tab E is a 5,000 mAh battery that can pump in a moderate life to the device.

Software wise, the Galaxy Tab E runs on the dated Android 4.4 KitKat and there is no word regarding a possible rollout of the Android Lollipop update. Carrying the model number SM-T560, the Galaxy Tab E is a Wi-Fi only device. It is likely that the firm will launch a cellular variant of the slate in the future.

Honestly speaking, the Galaxy Tab E does not the necessary specifications and features for the price tag that it carries. There are better alternatives in the market in terms of both specifications and pricing. For now, Samsung has not let out anything related to the availability of the slate in the other markets outside Taiwan.
