Samsung Galaxy S3 shot by bullet, gets its Gorilla Glass 2 and battery blown!

Chris Rock, one of the finest stand-up comedians in contemporary times once said:

Gun control? We need bullet control! I think every bullet should cost 5,000 dollars. Because if a bullet cost five thousand dollar, we wouldn’t have any innocent bystanders

While it was meant to be perceived as comic,  I couldn’t think of anything more appropriate when I watched this video by RatedRR, of a guy who practices his shooting on a perfectly fine looking Samsung Galaxy S3.  To top it, he uses a gun called a Heckler & Koch MP7, an automatic sub-machine gun, which can also double up as an assault rifle. If you’ve played Call of Duty, you know the kind of power we’re talking about, but to use that to destroy such an awesome phone, just for kicks, is nothing short of madness, in my book.

A lot of people may not be aware that the the Galaxy S3′s chassis is in fact made from polycarbonate rather than ‘standard’ plastic. Polycarbonate is also widely used in bulletproof windows. The main advantage of polycarbonate over other types of plastic is unbeatable strength combined with light weight, which also explains why the S3 feels to light.  in the video you would see that the bullet goes clean through the phone and the battery, but the Corning Gorilla Glass, though damaged (we don’t expect Samsung to use sub-machine guns with high velocity rounds for impact testing), does not shatter into pieces.

Check out the video above to see how the S3 performs against a hail of bullets from someone, who clearly needs to be sold bullets at $5000 a piece.
