Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, S10, and S10e Android 10 update, security updates, and more: September patch released!

We have summarized all the latest updates for the three Galaxy S10 handsets here on this page. Whether you have got the Galaxy S10 Plus, the S10, or the S10e, and are looking for info on Android 10, One UI 2.0, or any of the recently released monthly security patch update, we have got all of this covered here. As Samsung releases a given update for all the three S10 sets — yes, the updates carry same software version — we are maintaining one table for all the three devices. For ease, we are using only the last four letters of the build no. of the updates as software version in the tables below.

Latest news

September 18, 2019: Verizon has started rolling out the September update for the Galaxy S10 family. The OTA, which packs the September 2019 security patch, carries software version G973USQS2BSI4, G975USQS2BSI4, G970USQS2BSI4 for the S10, S10 Plus, and S10e, respectively.

September 17, 2019: The South Korean OEM is set to announce its Android 10 beta program in the closing days of September. The first beta could roll out by the end of October in the US and across Europe.

September 17, 2019: The Galaxy S10 users at T-Mobile are now receiving the September update, coming in as version G970USQS2BSI4 (S10e), G973USQS2BSI4 (S10) and G975USQS2BSI4 (S10+). T-Mobile is yet to announce the update, though, on its support pages.

T-Mobile S10 September update

September 11, 2019: The US Unlocked Galaxy S10 handsets are now receiving a second August security patch, identified as build BSGL. So, that’s software version G970U1UEU2BSGL for S10, G975U1UEU2BSGL for the S10 Plus, and G970U1UEU2BSGL for the S10e. A changelog is not available but some users have reported that the update adds haptic feedback for navigation gesture as well as buttons. You can enable it under Settings > Sounds and Vibration > System Sounds and Vibration > Toggle on the ‘Touch Vibration’ option.

August 30, 2019: After a really long wait, the T-Mobile Galaxy S10 users are finally getting the Night mode in the camera app via an update today. Yes, it also brings the QR scanner feature (look for the button under Quick Settings panel). The new update is identified by version BSGJ, which is G970USQU2BSGJ for the S10e, G973USQU2BSGJ for the standard S20, and G975USQU2BSGJ for the S10 Plus. Shame Samsung didn’t mention the Night mode and QR scanner feature on their doc page, but great thanks to users on Reddit to confirm this.

T-Mobile S10 night mode update

August 26, 2019: After a long wait, Sprint has released August security update for its Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10 Plus, coming in as software version BSGJ. The update also brings July security patches for the three S10 devices. Aug 29: Verizon too!

August 23, 2019: It was only yesterday that Google confirmed Android Q to be Android 10, but we are already seeing what seems to be an alpha build of One UI 2.0 update based on Android 10 on the Galaxy S10+. You can see this early build of One UI 2.0 in action in the video attached right below. You will see the new Quik Settings panel UI, new permissions from Android 10 (settings called Local), Link to Windows (Note 10-only right now), new gestures UI, etc.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Android 10 update

The Galaxy S10 is eligible for Android 10 update obviously. In fact, it will also get Android 11 update. But as far as Android 10 is concerned, it will also be the first Samsung Galaxy device to get the update, before the likes of Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 9.

When will Galaxy S10 get Android 10 update?

Let’s discuss the Galaxy S10 Android 10 release date now.

  • Samsung hasn’t announced the release date yet for its Android 10 release
  • First stable Android 10 update is expected for the global S10 models in November 2019
  • S10, S10e, and S10+ at AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular should get stable Android 10 update between December 2019 and January 2020

Here’s all you need to know about the expected release date of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S10, and Samsung Galaxy S10e.

You can expect the Galaxy S10 Android 10 update to get the stable version in November 2019 for the global model of the device (SM-G973F). The US models, ending with U/U1, should get the Android 10 update 1-2 months after it’s available for the global model as the mobile networks of the country need to perform additional testing of their own before releasing the update.

Here’s a list of various Galaxy S10 models and when they will get Android 10 update on their respective carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

Galaxy S10 Android 10 Beta

  • First Android 10 beta for S10 models should be out in October 2019

We expect Samsung to announce the beta program for Android 10 sometime in November 2019, at least for the Global model. Few US models, probably T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Unlocked, will also get a chance to participate in the beta program.

Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 update

Well, you may ask what is One UI 2.0. Well, One UI is Samsung custom skin, and its next version, One UI 2.0, will be based on Android 10 update. So, One UI 2.0 is what that will get Samsung Galaxy users Android 10 update. Naturally, One UI 2.0 beta is your Android 10 beta build.

It’s been rumored that Samsung plans to bring One UI 2.1 with the Galaxy S11, but as far Galaxy S10 is concerned, it should be receiving One UI 2.0 update with its Android 10 build.
