Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy J7 2016 and Galaxy A3 2015 also get February security update

After the Galaxy A3 2017 and Galaxy A5 2017, a bunch of other Samsung handsets including the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy J7 2016, and the Galaxy A3 2015 have also started receiving the February security update.

The security updates with firmware build number N915GXXS1DQB2 for the Note Edge, A300YZUJS1BQB3 for the Galaxy A3 (2015), and J710MNUBU2AQB2 for the Galaxy J7 (2016) are already out on a global scale and should reach your device very soon. Needless to say, the February security patch also brings along several bug fixes and performance improvements.

Monthly security patches, as dull as they may sound, are quite important for any Android smartphone as they get rid of security vulnerabilities thereby adding an extra layer of protection. And it’s particularly impressive to see Samsung putting that extra effort on rolling out security updates to devices that date back to 2015.

So, the next time you see the security update on your phone, think twice before ignoring it. Also, ensure that your device has at least 50% of the juice left before you begin to update the handset. In addition, it’s always a good practice to backup important data on your smartphone before beginning the update process for you never know when things are going to go south. Plus a backup never hurts, does it?
