Latest news

September 17, 2019: The South Korean OEM is set to announce its Android 10 beta program in the closing days of September. The Note-series devices usually get major Android OS updates a couple of weeks after their S-series siblings, but, so far, nothing has suggested that the Note 10 duo will also get the same treatment. The first beta could roll out by the end of October in the US and across Europe.

September 10, 2019: US telecom giant has started rolling out an update for the Note 10 lineup. Carrying software version ASHB N970USQU1ASHB for Note 10 and N975USQU1ASHB for Note 10 Plus — the OTA brings the September 2019 security patch for the devices and improves audio quality over wired headphones.

September 07, 2019: The September 2019 security patch is now available for the Note 10, Note 10+ and Note 10+ 5G. Coming in as build ASHE, the full software version of the September update for the N970FXXU1ASHE for the Note 10, N975FXXU1ASHE for the Note 10+, and N976BXXU1ASHE for the Note 10+ 5G.

Even though the build no. is same for the non-5G and 5G variants, they come with different changelogs. The September update brings for the Note 10 and Note 10+ brings improvements for better audio quality in wired earphones, and that’s it. But the one for the Note 10+ 5G comes with improvements for touch screen, fingerprint sensor, camera stability, and camera picture quality (the fixes that the non-5G variants have already received in past builds).

August 21, 2019: US carrier, T-Mobile has started rolling out an update for the Note 10 devices. Carrying software version ASH4, the OTA brings the August 2019 security to Note 10 (N970USQU1ASH4) and Note 10 Plus (N975USQU1ASH4).

Update, August 23: The same build is also available on the AT&T and US Unlocked devices, while it was already available on Verizon, Global and Sprint models. So, that completes the August security update rollout for the Note 10.

August 19, 2019: The first update is available now for the Galaxy Note 10 handsets. The update not only brings the August security patch, but it also gets you improved camera, touch and fingerprint performance. And that’s a lot, considering the devices aren’t even out yet.

Galaxy Note 10 Android 10 update

  • Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus are is eligible for Android 10
  • Both devices will receive the update together

The Android 10 update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus will arrive as One UI 2.0 OS update from Samsung. The Note 10 sets are fully eligible for the Android 10 update, in fact, they will also receive the Android 11 update as Samsung releases two OS updates for its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series.

Even though the Note 10 and Note 10+ will be among the first few devices to get Android 10, we suspect that they won’t beat the S10 to the punch because the latter will receive the Android 10 OTA first of all Samsung devices. In fact, we have already spotted a Galaxy S10 10 beta in the wild.

August 23: 2019: The One UI 2.0 update got leaked on the Galaxy S10, check it out. The leaked update confirms that the version 2.0 of the One UI update doesn’t bring a lot of changes to the UI, which is okay, but it does bring new features like Link to Windows (already on Note 10, though), new gestures navigation, new UI in Quick Settings panel, and some more.

When will Galaxy Note 10 get Android 10 update

  • Note 10 Android 10 update release date not announced by Samsung yet
  • Android 10 beta could arrive in October 2019 and stable update by November 2019 (Global model)
  • AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Unlocked variants could get Android 10 between December 2019 and January 2020

Let’s check out the expected release dates of the Note 10 and Note Plus models in the US, and the global model.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10/Note 10+ ModelAndroid 10 Release Date
Global UnlockedNovember 2019
AT&TDecember 2019
SprintJanuary 2020
T-MobileDecember 2019
VerizonJanuary 2020
US UnlockedJanuary 2020

Why Note 10 Android 10 update could release sooner?

There is a reason why we think Galaxy S10 Android 10 update might release sooner than usual from Samsung. If that happens, we can be sure that this will have a positive impact on the Note 10 Android 10 release date too, which could also release sometime November-December 2019, with One UI 2.0 beat coming out in October-ish.

September 07, 2019: What’s more, T-Mobile has announced that they are testing Android 10 for the S10 and Note 10, which is already 2-3 months earlier than usual of Samsung OS update rollout. We really think Samsung would release the update much sooner than the usual, thus don’t be surprised if Samsung releases the Android 10 update about 1-2 months earlier than the expected release dates mentioned above.

(Update: T-Mobile have retracted their earlier post, putting the Android 10 back in the “development” phase.)

Android 10 for Note 10+ 5G?

The release dates mentioned above are for the standard Note 10 and Note 10+ 5G handsets. As regards the Note 10+ 5G, well, because the 5G variants run on the update schedule slower than non-5G counterparts, you may safely add a delay of about one month to their Android 10 rollout.

Once Android 10 is available for the non-5G model, its 5G model in the region if any should be receiving the update in 2-4 weeks of that.

Galaxy Note 10 Android 10 Beta

  • Android 10 beta could be out in October 2019 in the US and across Europe
  • Note 10 in the US may get Android 10 beta for few models only
  • Stable release expected in November 2019, right after or alongside the Galaxy S10 lineup

The Android 10 beta will arrive as part of the One UI 2.0 beta program from Samsung wherein select few users will be able to participate and test the beta update. Once Samsung has ironed out the bugs found in the Android 10 beta updates, they may release the stable update.

The Android 10 beta program could last for a month to a few, and we may see Samsung release anything between 3-6 beta updates if history is any indication — Samsung released more than a few updates under Android 9 Pie beta program for Note 9 and Note 8 sets last time around.

One UI 2.0

Samsung has launched the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus with One UI 1.5, which is arguably the most refined One UI release yet. The company is expected to pair the upcoming Android rollout with another One UI bump. One UI 2.0 will pack Android 10’s best features, such as system-wide night mode, improved permission, and more, alongside Samsung’s software wizardry.

The Galaxy S11 might score One UI 2.0 but the likes of Galaxy S10 and Note 10 may be kept to One UI 2.0 only.
