The Galaxy S10, which received Android 10 at the end of November, received back-to-back beta updates before the stable build was released, and Note 10 seems to be heading down the same path. Five updates in, it probably won’t be long before the stable update is released for the device.

December 06, 2019: Samsung has started rolling out the fourth One UI 2 beta for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus. The update, with carries software version ZSL4, fixes the bug that made apps behaving erratically despite having all the necessary permission, takes care of S-Pen vibration problem, rids the device of unwarranted reboots while playing music, keeps the app icon from mysteriously disappearing, and optimizes the Screen Off Memo feature of the Note 10 devices. Apart from the bunch of bug fixes mentioned above, it also delivers the December 2019 security patch. The package size is 550MB.

November 30, 2019: Keeping in line with its newly-established trend of releasing software updates super quickly, Samsung has started rolling out OTA for the current Note-series flagship. Check out the image below to get the complete list of bug fixes.

November 19, 2019: South Korean OEM, Samsung, is gearing up to release the stable build for Android 10 for the Note 10 devices across the globe. As per a report from Sammobile, the Wi-Fi Alliance has certified the One UI 2 release for the Galaxy Note 10. Both LTE and 5G variants of the devices have been certified for release. Verizon and unlocked Note 10 users in the United States could get the chance to enjoy One UI 2 ahead of everyone else.

Similar to the S10 series, users would have to go to the Samsung Members’ app to get themselves registered for the beta program and then check for the update manually to download the intended software. The Android 10-based UI update is coming as software version ZSK3 and weighs in at 1.9GB.

November 08, 2019: It’s taken them two weeks to bring the software to the country, but Note 10 users are certainly glad that it has finally arrived. Yes, Samsung has started rolling out One UI 2 beta for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus in India. Like the S10 devices in India, Note 10, too, is kicking off the beta with the latest available update, meaning it’s not behind European/US variants as you’d expect. The OTA carries software version ZSK4 and weighs in at 1.8GB.

November 07, 2019: Samsung has started rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Note 10 duo. The OTA, dubbed as ASJM — N970FXXU1ASJM for Note 10 and N975FXXU1ASJM for Note 10 Plus — enables OneDrive sync for the Gallery app, bolsters the fingerprint recognition algorithm, and improves Samsung’s Bixby assistant. The update has the previously released November 2019 security patch.

November 02, 2019: After Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Unlocked Galaxy Note 10 variants in the United States are getting a security update. The update carries software version ASJ2 for T-Mobile users and improves camera picture quality, enhances keyboard sound stability, and delivers the November 2019 security patch. For US Unlocked users, the update comes in as version ASJ8 and delivers improved fingerprint algorithm alongside the November 2019 security patch.

November 01, 2019: The leading telecommunications company in the United States, Verizon, has started rolling out the November 2019 security patch for the Galaxy Note 10. Dubbed as Software Update 3, the OTA carries software version N970USQS2ASJ8 and N975USQS2ASJ8, and N975USQS2ASJ8 for Note 10, Note 10 Plus, and Note 10 Plus 5G, respectively. Apart from the security patch, the update also brings improved fingerprint recognition algorithm.

November 01, 2019: US telecom giant, Sprint, has started rolling out an update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus. Carrying software version ASJ8, the OTA brings the November 2019 security patch. The update comes only three days after the release of the October patch, which has left many users in a state of shock (pleasant, of course).

November 01, 2019: Unlocked Note 10/Note 10 Plus users in the United States have started receiving a maintenance update. The OTA, which carries software version ASJ3, improves camera picture quality, increases the stability of keyboard sound, and brings along the October 2019 security patch.

October 29, 2019: Samsung seems to have really upped the ante in terms of software updates over the last couple of months. Not only has the company already released One UI 2 beta to S10 and Note 10 devices, but they are also pushing out security updates faster than ever. After S10 and Tab S4, Note 10 devices are getting the November 2019 security patch. The OTA comes as software version ASJG (N970FXXS1ASJG for Note 10 and N975FXXS1ASJG for Note 10 Plus) and is widely available in Europe.

October 29, 2019: One UI 2 beta, carrying software version ZSJF, which was previously rolled out to Note 10 devices in Europe, has started rolling out to Note 10 devices in the United States. Unlike the S10 trio, which kicked off the One UI 2 beta program from the first version itself, Note 10 duo is getting a more polished second version. The unlocked exclusive update is also carrying the November 2019 security patch.

October 28, 2019: Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus devices on Sprint have started receiving an update. As per users who have received it, the OTA is only a regular security update, bringing the October 2019 security patch.

October 25, 2019: The Note 10, Note 10 Plus and Note 10 Plus 5G on Verizon are receiving the October security update right now. Coming in as software version ASJ2, the updates are already available as an OTA as we speak.

Verizon October update

October 25, 2019: Samsung is rolling out the One UI 2.0 update with Android 10 OS for the Note 10 and Note 10+ users in Europe, as confirmed by Reddit users here. The Note 10’s Android 10 update arrives as build ZSJF and also brings along November 2019 security patch.

October 24, 2019: A number of Galaxy Note 10 users have reported an issue with their device’s in-display fingerprint scanner, claiming the devices could be unlocked even though unregistered prints. Samsung has chalked the issue down to a special type of silicone cover, which was fooling the device into registering its imprinted insides as fingerprints.

Samsung has released a mandatory update to patch it up and it seems to have done the trick. The update, which would appear as a notification, won’t restart your device as a regular maintenance OTA. So, you can safely install it even you’re at work.

October 23, 2019: AT&T has started rolling out an update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus. Carrying software version ASJ2, the OTA brings the October 2019 security patch.

October 21, 2019: An earlier report tipped the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus to get Android 10-based One UI 2 beta on October 21st. Samsung has already rolled out the beta for the Galaxy S10 family in multiple markets, so, it’s quite natural for the Note 10 duo to be the next two devices in line.

However, as per a Samsung customer care representative, the beta has been postponed for the Note 10 and won’t be coming out until October 24th. Samsung has neither acknowledged nor denied the rumors.

October 12, 2019: The Note 10 and Note 10+ sets at AT&T received a new software update on September 19th, that improved the charging performance, audio performance, and USB headset stability. Coming in as ASI2 build, the update is available as an OTA and also brings in the September update.

October 10, 2019: The Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ and Note 10+ 5G handsets are now receiving the October security update. Coming in as build ASJ2 for the Global Note 10 and Note 10+ 5G sets, and ASI3 for the US Unlocked models, the OTA updates are hitting the devices as we speak. Both the builds carry different changelog, which is not surprising given they are for different regions. While the US Unlocked model is getting security patches only, the Global model is getting improvements for the camera, keyboard, and more. What’s more, check out the text right below to learn the release date of Note 10’s Android 10 update, as revealed by a Samsung customer rep.

October 11, 2019: The Android 10 update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ users might come out on October 21, as per a Samsung representative on live chat support. So, this is the date when the One UI 2 update could be released for the Note 10 sets, except the 5G edition we presume.

October 08, 2019: Samsung has announced the Android 10 beta update for the Galaxy S10 series (except S10 5G) in Korea. Arriving as One UI 2 beta, the update is expected to be available soon. Sadly, Note 10 wasn’t mentioned in today’s announcement despite rumors pointing to simultaneous release for both S10 and Note 10, but we would still harbor hopes of Android 10 beta for Note 10 coming soon.

September 21, 2019: September update is now also available for the Verizon Note 10, Note 10+ and Note 10+ 5G. It’s the same software version as that of Sprint’s September update, ASHB, and is already rolling out as an OTA. If you were hoping for Android 10 already, well, know that while the beta is expected to roll out by September-end, the stable release is expected only in November-December. [Update: T-Mobile is also rolling out September update, with the version being ASHB.]

September 17, 2019: The South Korean OEM is set to announce its Android 10 beta program in the closing days of September. The Note-series devices usually get major Android OS updates a couple of weeks after their S-series siblings, but, so far, nothing has suggested that the Note 10 duo will also get the same treatment. The first beta could roll out by the end of October in the US and across Europe.

September 10, 2019: US telecom giant, Sprint, has started rolling out an update for the Note 10 lineup. Carrying software version ASHB N970USQU1ASHB for Note 10 and N975USQU1ASHB for Note 10 Plus — the OTA brings the September 2019 security patch for the devices and improves audio quality over wired headphones.

September 07, 2019: The September 2019 security patch is now available for the unlocked Note 10, Note 10+ and Note 10+ 5G. Coming in as build ASHE, the full software version of the September update for the N970FXXU1ASHE for the Note 10, N975FXXU1ASHE for the Note 10+, and N976BXXU1ASHE for the Note 10+ 5G.

Even though the build no. is the same for the non-5G and 5G variants, they come with different changelogs. The September update brings for the Note 10 and Note 10+ brings improvements for better audio quality in wired earphones, and that’s it. But the one for the Note 10+ 5G comes with improvements for touch screen, fingerprint sensor, camera stability, and camera picture quality (the fixes that the non-5G variants have already received in past builds).

Galaxy Note 10 Android 10 update

  • Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus are is eligible for Android 10
  • Both devices will receive the update together

The Android 10 update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus will arrive as One UI 2 OS update from Samsung. The Note 10 sets are fully eligible for the Android 10 update, in fact, they will also receive the Android 11 update as Samsung releases two OS updates for its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series.

Even though the Note 10 and Note 10+ will be among the first few devices to get Android 10, we suspect that they won’t beat the S10 to the punch because the latter will receive the Android 10 OTA first of all Samsung devices. In fact, we have already spotted a Galaxy S10 10 beta in the wild.

August 23: 2019: The One UI 2 update got leaked on the Galaxy S10, check it out. The leaked update confirms that the version 2.0 of the One UI update doesn’t bring a lot of changes to the UI, which is okay, but it does bring new features like Link to Windows (already on Note 10, though), new gestures navigation, new UI in Quick Settings panel, and some more.

When will Galaxy Note 10 get Android 10 update

  • Stable build for Global expected mid December
  • AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Unlocked variants could get Android 10 between December 2019 and January 2020

Let’s check out the expected release dates of the Note 10 and Note Plus models in the US, and the global model.

Android 10 for Note 10+ 5G?

The release dates mentioned above are for the standard Note 10 and Note 10+ 5G handsets. As regards the Note 10+ 5G, well, because the 5G variants run on the update schedule slower than non-5G counterparts, you may safely add a delay of about one month to their Android 10 rollout.

Once Android 10 is available for the non-5G model, its 5G model in the region if any should be receiving the update in 2-4 weeks of that.

One UI 2

Samsung has launched the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus with One UI 1.5, which is arguably the most refined One UI release yet. The company is expected to pair the upcoming Android rollout with another One UI bump. One UI 2 will pack Android 10’s best features, such as system-wide night mode, improved permission, and more, alongside Samsung’s software wizardry.

The Galaxy S11 might score One UI 2 but the likes of Galaxy S10 and Note 10 may be kept to One UI 2 only.
