Samsung Galaxy M30 to feature Exynos 7885, 4GB RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo: Geekbench

Samsung’s latest lineup of budget-oriented devices is set to launch sometime next year. We’ve already seen the leaks for the Samsung Galaxy M10 as well as the M20 and now the Geekbench scores for the Samsung SM-M305F have been leaked as well.

The new ‘M’ series of devices are going to replace the Samsung On-series devices which have garnered a lot of negative reviews from tech enthusiasts.

Judging by the leaked score, we can see that the Galaxy M30 comes with the universal7885 chipset which has powers the likes of the Galaxy A8/A8+ 2018 as well as the Galaxy A7 2019.

The leaks suggest the device would also come with 4 GB RAM which is fairly great for a budget device given that the recent Pixel 3/3XL flagships come with 4 GB RAM too. Unfortunately, it seems as though the device would be launching with Android 8.1 Oreo aboard rather than Android 9 Pie.

The new M-range of devices seems to be good replacements to the current budget lineup of Samsung since there’s way too much confusion between the J-series devices and the On-range of devices as well.

We’re yet to receive any information regarding the actual pricing of the M30; however, we expect it to be within the 20k price bracket which would pit the M-range of devices in direct competition with Xiaomi, Realme, Asus, as well as Nokia smartphones.

The Galaxy M30 would supposedly come with a base variant with 64 GB storage and might go up to 128 GB as well; however, there seems to be no indication for a higher capacity RAM.

Since the Korean giant is set to kill the J-series lineup of devices, hopefully, the company would focus on and improve the new budget lineup to grab a hold of the budget smartphone market share once again.
