Since the second half of 2018 begun, reports started emerging with claims that Samsung has plans to unveil a new series of devices dubbed the Galaxy M.
Since then, not much has been going on, but this doesn’t mean nothing has come out with regards to the said Samsung Galaxy M series. In fact, we’ve heard reports that there will be at least four models dubbed Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, Galaxy M30, and Galaxy M50.

A separate report has also given us a few details about what is believed to be the Galaxy M10, but on this page, we talk more about the Galaxy M20 specs, features, pricing and availability details.
Galaxy M20 specs
- 6.0-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080) Infinity-U LCD display screen
- Exynos 7885 octa-core processor
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB expandable storage, up to 256GB
- Dual 13MP + 5MP main camera
- 8MP front camera
- 5000mAh battery
- Android 8.1 Oreo
The new Samsung Galaxy M series is reportedly here to replace the Galaxy C, Galaxy J and Galaxy On series and looking at the Galaxy M20 (SM-M205F) specs, it’s set to be an interesting device. What immediately grabs anyone’s attention is the 5000mAh battery, the first of its kind in a Samsung smartphone, as reported by AAS.
What’s even more interesting is that the Galaxy M20 will reportedly ship with the first Infinity-U display panel, an LCD screen instead of a Super AMOLED panel like other Samsung phones. In essence, this looks like a waterdrop-style notch that we’ve already seen on a good number of phones, something that has been backed by the leaked image below.
In terms of photography, a dual-lens camera is expected on the back with a 13MP and 5MP lens while the front will get an 8MP shooter. Under the hood, the Galaxy M20 has an Exynos 7885 chipset mated with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage and for the OS, you get Android 8.1 Oreo preinstalled. Of course, an update to Android 9 Pie is expected.
You can also expect extras like a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB port, some form of fast charging for the big battery, and so on.
Galaxy M20 pricing and availability
Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy M20 would be launched in India on January 28 and would be available on the Amazon India website as well as the Samsung Online Shop exclusively. The South Korean Giant is ready to take on budget smartphone offerings from Xiaomi and other manufacturers who have been releasing devices with good specifications at a budget price.
The company aims to reclaim its market share in the budget segment with the release of the Galaxy M10, M20, and later the M30 as well. The Galaxy M20 could be priced at around INR 15000. The ‘M’ stands for millennials and Samsung is targeting the M series of devices at the youth.
A report by SamMobile recently revealed that the Galaxy M series will be a target for emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, just like it is the case for the Galaxy C, Galaxy J, and Galaxy On series.
Of course, we will update this post when we get more official details, hopefully, soon.
