April 08, 2020: The Android 10 update is now available for Galaxy J6 handsets whose model no. is SM-J600G.The update arrives as software version J600GUBU6CTC8.
April 26, 2019: Last week, the Indian version of the Galaxy J6 was updated to Android 9 Pie and at the time, we were optimistic that the same update was coming soon to the J6+. And true to this, the device is now receiving Pie in India as version J610FXXU1BSDE, tagging along the new Samsung One UI as well as the latest April 2019 security patch.
The same update is also available in Europe (Germany) as version J610FNXXU1BSDE. Being an OTA rollout, it will take some time before all J6+ units in India and Europe receive the download notification, so be patient if the notification hasn’t arrived yet.
April 18, 2019: Those using the Galaxy J6 (SM-J600G) from India are now able to download and install a new update to Android 9 Pie. The update, which is arriving as version J600GDXU3BSD9, also installs Samsung One UI and March 2019 security patches to the device.
April 10, 2019: Samsung has released the Android 9 Pie update for the model nos. SM-J600G and SM-J600F of the Galaxy J6. The update arrives as software version BSCA and is already hitting the eligible devices as an OTA as we speak.
Yes, it comes with Samsung’s new custom UI called One UI. To check for an update on your J6, hit up Settings > Software update > Download and install. The full version of the update is J600FXXU3BSCA (for J600F model) and J600GUBU3BSCA (for J600G model).
Samsung first announced the Galaxy J6 and later followed it up with the Galaxy J6 Plus. These two are budget phones and like any other of their kind from Samsung, they’ll receive software updates from time to time but not as regular as the Galaxy S and Note series.

Galaxy J6 Android 9 Pie update

The Galaxy J6 and J6 Plus, like any other device in the Galaxy J series, will receive at least one major OS upgrade. The pair has Android Oreo preinstalled; meaning the next and perhaps the only upgrade will bring Android 9 Pie update.

As of April 26, 2019, both the Galaxy J6 and J6 Plus have now been updated to Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI on top. The J6 got the nod first ahead of the J6+, with different regions receiving the download at different timeframes.
