Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 specs leaked!

The next iteration of the Galaxy J5 has been spotted on Geekbench and it’s running Android 7.0 Nougat build already! A Samsung with model number SM-J530FM has made it to Geekbench, which has to be Galaxy J5 2017 as J5 2016 carried model no. SM-J520, and it reveals quite a few specs about the device.

The smartphone was seen with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow last month when it appeared WiFi Alliance. It’s great to see that things have changed with the Geekbench listing revealing a build of Android 7.0 Nougat on what looks like Samsung’s next budget offering.

Under the hood, we may see Samsung’s own octa-core processor, Exynos 7870, clocked at 1.59GHz. This is the same processor Samsung used to power Galaxy A3 2017, BTW. We also expect to see the addition of a few more essential sensors as the current gen J5 lacked a some. The screen and resolution on the other hand may remain the same due to the budget status of the device.

As noted from the Geekbench listing the 2GB of RAM on board hasn’t changed from the previous J5. It was surely disappointing to see the Galaxy J5 Prime (2017) not receive Nougat, but with the upcoming Galaxy J5 2017 our hopes are back to some extent.
