You can use an extra row on the homescreen of your Galaxy S8, S9 and Note 8 now (5×6 setup)

Even before the Galaxy S9 and S9+ were officially launched, we got a taste of what to expect on the software side of things with the release of Samsung Experience 9.0 UX. Now that the issues and bugs are being fixed, the South Korean company is also finding time to drop in some useful features every now and then.

Based on the latest update for the Samsung TouchWiz Home, you can now enjoy the use of more app icons on the screen of your Galaxy S8, Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 8, and other Samsung devices. With the updated version 9.0.05.32, the ability to add a 5×6 grid for the home screen has been added (earlier, the maximum allowed was 5×5), giving you the screen space to add an extra row of apps.

  1. Pinch or press and hold the empty space on the home screen.
  2. From the layout editor at the bottom, select the Home screen settings
  3. Select the Home screen grid option and set it to 5×6.
  4. Tap the Apply button to confirm your action.

That’s all you need to do to add an entire row space of apps to the home screen of your Galaxy device. If you can’t view the ability to use the 5×6 grid on your Galaxy device, head over to Galaxy Apps and make sure that Samsung TouchWiz Home is updated to version 9.0.05.32.
