Samsung Galaxy Fold is official: Dual 7.3″ and 4.6″ screens, 12GB RAM, 6 cameras, 4380mAh battery, and more, all for $1980

Galaxy Fold launch

Samsung Galaxy Fold is official. The foldable smartphone has been announced at the ongoing Unpacked 2019 event, becoming the first from the company to adopt this design.

Unlike what we saw at the Developer conference late last year, today Samsung has given us a full view of the Galaxy Fold, including the specs, features, pricing and availability.

The Galaxy Fold comes with a dual-screen design that features a 4.6-inch panel when folded and when unfolded, you end up with a massive 7.3-inch screen. The huge screen supports app continuity, which means when you unfold the phone, the app opens up without breaking up. Multitasking has also been made even better with the support of up to three apps.

Galaxy Fold specs

The phone folds on the inside, leaving three cameras on the back, one on the front, and two just above the 7.3-inch panel when the phone unfolds. Samsung says this makes the Galaxy Fold your perfect photography companion because lenses are just about everywhere.

Galaxy Fold battery

On the inside, the Galaxy Fold packs a massive 12GB of RAM allied to 512GB storage. The 4380mAh battery unit is a pair that works as one. For such a large-screen device, this battery seems a little small, but the pre-installed Android Pie with One UI should help improve battery life.

Galaxy Fold Price

Samsung Galaxy Fold will be available in the U.S. through AT&T and T-Mobile beginning April 26 priced at a whopping $1,980.
