Samsung Galaxy Camera pre-booking begins in India, no word on release date

Samsung has started taking pre-orders for its upcoming point and shoot Android-based Galaxy Camera on its online store in India, though they haven’t mentioned the actual release date nor the official price. Pre-ordering customers will have to pay an amount of Rs. 3000 in advance (which will probably be non-refundable as always), and the device should be launching some time around Diwali.

The Galaxy Camera runs on Android 4.1 with a 4.8″ HD LCD display on the back, and a full-blown 16 megapixel camera on the front, capable of up to 21x optical zoom and easy professional photos thanks to the Smart Pro mode. Other specs include a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage expandable via microSD, Wi-Fi, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI port, and a 1650 mAh battery, making it a camera-cum-smartphone running the latest version of Android.
