Samsung Galaxy Buds update adds notification alert to Ambient sound, fixes Bluetooth and sound loss issues

Samsung Galaxy Buds wireless charging

Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds alongside the Galaxy S10 series and even included the wireless earphones as a freebie for those who pre-ordered the standard and Plus variants of the phone.

As always with such devices, regular software updates are what make them better with time and one such update is now rolling out over the air to the Galaxy Buds.

Arriving as version R170XXUOASE1 and weighing in at 1.35MB, the latest update stabilizes Bluetooth connectivity through fixes and resolves the issue where one side of the earbuds would lose sound during Ambient sound.

The changelog also says the update applies notification alert to Ambient sound when selected via long press and as usual, stability improvements are also part of the update.

Samsung Galaxy Buds update

Samsung Galaxy Buds users will receive the update over the air, meaning it may take a few days before all units get the download notification. Of course, you must connect the device to your phone in order to download and install the latest software via the Galaxy Wearable app.

Alternatively, open the Galaxy Buds section in the app and go to About phone > Update earbuds software > Download and install the update manually. The Galaxy Buds Manager program is also available for those who’d wish to update the earphones using a PC.
