Lately, the Samsung Galaxy A8 has been surfacing in numerous leaks and speculations. The most recent hands-on video leak of the device revealed its hardware and software aspects. It also revealed the 5.9 mm thin profile of the Galaxy A8 that will make it the thinnest Samsung smartphone ever.

While this is already known, do you know that the Galaxy A8 will feature a 16 MP main snapper on its back despite being thin? Well, yes. Samsung has managed to make this happen with the ISOCELL camera sensor that has reduced pixel size to 1.0 µm. The overall thickness of this camera module is only 5 mm. This way, the camera sensor is 23 percent slimmer than the Sony IMX240 sensor used on the Galaxy Note 4.

Of course, there will be a slight downgrade in the quality of the images taken by this camera as it has a smaller pixel size. The same should not be an issue as the Galaxy A8 will not be as expensive as the high-end flagship models – Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4.

Going by the previous reports, the Galaxy A8 is likely to boast of a 5.7 inch Full HD 1080p Super AMOLED display that results in a pixel density of 386 pixels per inch. Under its hood, it is said to employ a 64 bit octa core Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage capacity.

The device is said to arrive with a 16 MP main snapper and a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter. Also, it will support 4G LTE connectivity and a 3,050 mAh battery will power it from within. The device will be pre-loaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop topped with the latest iteration of TouchWiz UI.
