Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017), A5 (2016) and A7 (2016) get March security update

When it comes to monthly security patches, Samsung is lavish enough to take care of all its devices, irrespective of their launch dates and price range. As such, Samsung rolling out monthly security patch update, to this year released Galaxy A3 (2017) and last year’s products Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016), hardly comes as a surprise to us.

The Marshmallow based Galaxy A3 (2017) is receiving the March security patch update as build number A320FXXU1AQC2 while firmware update with build number A510MUBS3BQC1 is being seeded to Galaxy A5 2016. For Galaxy A7 2016, Samsung is pushing the monthly update as build number A710MUBU2BQB2.

The update is being rolled out to the three Galaxy devices as OTA and should be completed in stages. As such, it might take some time to arrive on your device. However, for those impatient ones who would like to check for it immediately, there’s an alternative. You can check for the update by going to Settings > About device > System updates.

If the monthly update is available for download, complete these two things before hitting the download button. Get your handset at least 50 percent charged and connected to a WiFi network. Once these two steps have been covered, you are on for a roll.
