Samsung confirms Galaxy Note 2 announcement for US on October 24 at its NYC event

Not that we didn’t already know that the Galaxy Note 2 would be officially announced in the US on October 24th at a Samsung event in New York City, thanks to a teaser they released back in September, but now Samsung has gone ahead and officially confirmed it by sending out invites to the press. Do keep in mind that the Galaxy Note 2 will most probably be only announced on October 24th, though we should a release on major carriers soon after.

The Galaxy Note 2 is the newest device in Samsung’s phablet series, and will be the first to sport a quad-core processor as well as 4G LTE connectivity, thanks to Samsung’s new Exynos chip. The S Pen however is the real star of the show, improved and made more useful in the time that has passed after the original Galaxy Note was launched. And last but not the least, you have that giant 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display of 720p resolution, but without the PenTile matrix ruining its sharpness and clarity, and a 3100 mAh battery to keep everything chugging along nicely despite the big display and processing power.

We’ll get you all the juicy details such as the pricing and official release dates for different carriers, which should get announced during or after the event, so stay tuned.
