Update [Oct 22]: Samsung is now sending out teasers of Android 9 Pie update through Samsung+ app, where it has also confirmed that the software release will commence in early 2019.
Samsung France took to its member’s community to discuss the changes the new OTA Android Pie updates may bring on many of its devices. The discussion suggested that the Android Pie update may not be expected to arrive before January 2019. However, it did delineate some changes that are expected with the update.
Features like the automatic insertion of space after a number when using Swype, already available in new devices, is expected to arrive in older devices like Galaxy Note 8 with Pie. Moreover, the second sim in dual-sim phones will support VoLTE and VoWiFi, already available on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9.
It is also rumored that new camera features are being developed along while fixing old bugs related to camera’s gallery is also in the offing. The use of flash in direct focus mode and floating keyboard while gaming may make an entry in older phones like Galaxy Note 8.

While Samsung is yet to confirm any details about its Global Beta testing, leaked images online point towards the builds for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9. They had announced their Beta program for Android Oreo last year in November and the same may be expected for Pie this year.
