Samsung already testing Android 7.1.1 Nougat on Galaxy A3 2016?

We already knew that Samsung was testing the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the 2016 Galaxy A series of smartphones. However, instead of Android Nougat version 7.0, it looks like Samsung may be planning on releasing Nougat 7.1.1 for the 2016 Galaxy A series smartphones.

This isn’t confirmed, but we spotted the 2016 Galaxy A3 running Android 7.1.1 on Geekbench. We know that Samsung plans to release the Nougat updates for the Galaxy A series devices in the first half of 2017, and that’s almost over.

It is possible that instead of releasing Android 7.0, Samsung might actually give the Galaxy A users a treat with the latest Android 7.1.1 release. The company recently started to seed the Nougat update for the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge in Europe.

Next in line are the 2016 Galaxy A series, which include the A3, A8, A5 and the A7. The Galaxy A5 and the A7 devices will receive the Nougat update later this year. We will let you know when the updates are available.

  1. I don’t think so. There is a LineageOS for a310f in 7.1.1.
