Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 confirmed by Samsung, could be named either ‘Galaxy Note R’ or ‘Galaxy Note 7R’

According to a new report out of Korea, Samsung has confirmed that it will soon release the refurbished Galaxy Note 7, but it may carry a slightly different name. The report states that the refurbished unit could be called either the Galaxy Note R or the Galaxy Note 7R.

Samsung said that the refurbished Note 7 would be announced alongside the launch of the Galaxy S8. However, it could take longer as they have to get the device approved by regulatory authorities again.

The new Galaxy Note R or Note 7R would be a new phone, but will have the same design and specifications as the discontinued Note 7. It would also feature a smaller battery, of which we’ve heard before, and it would be assembled in Vietnam.

We aren’t sure when exactly the new refurbished Note 7 would be available for purchase, but expect it to be cheaper and non-explosive. Samsung is also supposed to announce the Galaxy Note 8 in the coming months.
