Optus Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Nougat update could be delayed, Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus complete testing

Users of Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on Australian carrier Optus will soon be able to enjoy the sweetness of Nougat. The carrier has revealed, via its software support page, that  the Nougat testing for these Galaxy devices has been completed.

This means that soon a stable build of Nougat update will be pushed to Optus Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. This update will also include WiFi calling and Google security patches.

On the other hand, Optus Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users will need to wait for some more time before they are able to enjoy the Nougat features. The carrier has updated its software support page to reveal that the Nougat testing for these two Galaxy devices has been withdrawn by Samsung. Although the carrier did not specify the reason behind the withdrawal, we think this could be due to technical glitches.

Notably, the unlocked variant of the four mentioned devices have been updated to Nougat already. Also, the US carriers have also bumped up the software of Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ as well Note 5 to Android Nougat.
