Oppo launched the Realme 2 in September and followed up with the Realme 2 Pro in October 2018. These two are quite popular in their own sense, especially in Asia, more so in India. While Oppo has never been one to go to when software updates are a priority, the company seems to be having good plans for both Realme 2 and 2 Pro.
And on this page, we will keep track of all the software news and updates that these two will receive, be it ColorOS updates with bug fixes and new features or even major Android OS upgrades, if and when Oppo releases them.

Realme 2 and 2 Pro ColorOS update

Like any other Android phone, those from Oppo have a skin on top of stock Android and it’s called ColorOS. Oppo will be updating the ColorOS version installed on the Realme 2 and 2 Pro regularly and in the process adding new features, bug fixes, and security improvements.
The next-in-line ColorOS 5.2 update begins rolling out on November 20th, however, this will only affect the Realme 2 Pro, with the same update expected on the standard Realme 2 at a later time.
Realme 2 and 2 Pro Android 9 Pie update
As pointed out, Oppo has never been the best OEM for those looking for regular and timely software updates. However, our opinion slightly changed when Oppo joined the Android P beta program back in May 2018, something the big-name Samsung and Huawei couldn’t manage.
Things got even better when the company announced that the Realme 1 would be upgraded to Android 9 Pie, giving us assurances that the Pie update will also be made available for the Realme 2 and Realme 2 Pro. But when exactly this will happen remains unknown.
Of course, we’ll update this page when Oppo makes official communication about the Pie release date for both Realme 2 phones.
