Oppo markets itself as a smartphone camera focused company, and it also claims itself as ‘The Selfie expert and leader.’ To their credit, they do offer smartphones that are solid camera-wise, and offer many software tweaks for better selfies.
On the software front, though, things are not that nice as we would wish them to be. Oppo certainly isn’t the one to try to impress users with software updates. They share the same philosophy on updates as their sister concern, Vivo does (both are owned by BBK Electronics company from China, who also owns OnePlus). Let’s see if there are any Oppo devices which are eligible for the Oreo update.
Oppo Android 8.0 update list
As we saw in our Vivo Oreo update rollout coverage, there is no Vivo phone on the market that would receive Android 8.0 because the company hasn’t released a single OTA for any of its device in last two years that would upgrade the Android OS version.
Oppo looks to be operating on similar lines. They haven’t shown any interesting in rolling out newer Android version to any of their devices launched in last two years, except one or two, and that was a Marshmallow update from Lollipop — so, none of the device got Nougat as an OTA on Marshmallow.
Which brings us to a rather sadful conclusion, that we can’t expect any Oppo phones to get the Oreo update as an OTA. yes, whether that be one fo their most popular handsets, like the Oppo F3 and Oppo F3 Plus, Oppo R9s, Oppo R11 and Oppo R11 Plus, etc.
So, the list of Oppo devices that would get Android 8.0 update is just blank. We do not think Oppo would release Oreo for any of their devices in the current lineup.
