Oppo announces ColorOS 2.1 with Android 5.0 Lollipop, but doesn’t embraces Material design

Oppo has finally announced the R7 and R7 Plus at an event held in Beijing today, and with that the company also unveiled its upcoming Lollipop update to the ColorOS with version 2.1.

The most apparent changes in the new Color OS are the visual ones, but unfortunately not material designed. Oppo’s ColorOS 2.1 has reached to Android 5.0 Lollipop, but has left behind the most exciting bit about it. Anyway, the updated look on the OS is nice on its own, although it tries to mimic iOS in many places.

The 2.1 update benefits in terms of speed a lot with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Oppo says the boot time has been reduced to 19 seconds from 31 seconds previously. Also, the OS is now more responsive than ever with faster load times for apps.

Here’s a quick video of ColorOS 2.1 in action:

ColorOS 2.1 is already available for download as beta for the Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a, you get it over here.
