OnePlus is the only non-Google OEM that currently guarantees at least three Android OS upgrades for its devices. The company already has up to four smartphones taking part in Android 10 beta program and even better is that nearly all of its existing phones will be upgraded to Android 10.
With longer software support guaranteed, now the big question is when will Android 10 arrive for each of the devices in question? Let’s find out.

OnePlus Android 10 Release Date
When will my OnePlus get Android 10?
- Official roadmap not available!
- OnePlus 7, 7 Pro may get stable Android 10 in Oct 2019 as OxygenOS 10
- OnePlus 6 and 6T should get Android 10 before the end of November 2019
- Android 10 expected on OnePlus 5/5T in January 2020
- Android 10 already released for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro as Open Beta 1 update
- OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T to get Android 10 Open Beta update soon
OnePlus will release the Android 10 update as OxygenOS 10 OS first of all on OnePlus 7 series devices, including OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. We expect that to happen sometime in October 2019 as the devices have already received Android 10 as part of the Open Beta update.
Once OnePlus is done updating OnePlus 7 handsets to Android 10, the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are next in line. Both of them shall be getting Android 10 before the end of November 2019 unless something major goes south. Earlier, OnePlus released an update to prepare the two devices for Android 10.
Next, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will be receiving the Android 10 update. Their OxygenOS 10 update could go live in January 2020, but they may Android 10 as part of an Open Beta update first, sometime in Nov-Dec 2019.
Older devices like OnePlus 3, 3T, 2, X and One will not get Android 10 update.
OnePlus Android 10 update features
OnePlus Android 10 update will include OxygenOS customizations on top. At this point in time, we don’t know what plans OnePlus has in store, but we do know most of the features the underlying OS will bring to OnePlus devices.
You can read about Android 10 features, both confirmed and rumored arrivals.
August 31, 2019: OnePlus has shared some new features that will be part of their Android 10 based OxygenOS 10 update. OnePlus says that themes on Android 10 will be able to change your wallpaper, clock styles, icon packs, accent colors, even the fingerprint animations (for in-display fingerprint sensors only, obviously), and more.
That, and when you are using gestures, the bottom bar will aid you greatly in moving from previous apps easily using horizontal swipes. It does look cool, see the GIF image OnePlus shared right below.
What really impresses here is the speed and smoothness with which the OnePlus device is able to move from one app to another app. What do you think?
OnePlus 7, 7 Pro and 7 Pro 5G
- All three are eligible for Android 10
- Android 10 beta is available for OnePlus 7 (DP3) and 7 Pro (DP4)
- Stable Android 10 update should arrive in Oct-Nov 2019
- Android 10 released as Open Beta on September 3
Owners of OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will receive Android 10 update. So far, the unlocked variants of the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro already have access to Android 10 beta and are expected to receive the stable version somewhere in early Q4 2019, although we won’t be surprised if the OS arrives in late Q3 2019.

OnePlus 6 and 6T
- Both are eligible for Android 10
- Beta testing is ongoing (DP3)
- Stable version expected in December 2019
- Android 10 Open Beta is expected soon (September 2019)
OnePlus 6 and 6T were among the first non-Google devices to be added to the ongoing Android 10 beta testing program. The duo is also expected to be among the first non-Google phones to receive the stable version, most likely towards the end of the year.
OnePlus 5 and 5T
- Both are eligible for Android 10 update
- OnePlus is no major hurry to update the duo
- Expect Q to arrive in Q1 2020
OnePlus 5 and 5T are guaranteed to receive updates to Android 10, but OnePlus says it won’t be in any major hurry to release the software to the duo. The 3 and 3T got their third major OS upgrade in April/May 2019 and if OnePlus is to follow the same pattern, we are looking at an April/May 2020 release date for OnePlus 5 and 5T Android 10 update.
But of course, we can be a little optimistic, so be sure to set your eyes on February 2020 as the possible Android 10 release date for OnePlus 5 and 5T, although this could be the beta version.
OnePlus 3 and 3T
- Not eligible for Android 10
- Expect plenty of custom ROMs based on Android 10, though
OnePlus 3 and 3T are the first non-Google devices ever to receive three major Android OS updates officially. As a result, they’ve come to the end of the road, which also means no Android 10 updates from OnePlus.
The only other way to get Android 10, Android R, and probably Android S on your OnePlus 3 and 3T will be through custom ROMs. And yes, you can expect plenty of them from the likes of LingeageOS, Pixel Experience, and so on.
OnePlus One, 2 and X
- None is eligible for Android 10
- Custom ROMs should be available
Its been years since OnePlus officially upgraded the Android OS installed on any of OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. This is set to go on even after the release of Android 10, but like with previous versions, expect plenty of custom ROMs based on Android 10 for these devices.
