2019 has been a monumental year for OnePlus. From being the new kid on the block to establishing itself as one of the biggest names in the industry with the OnePlus 7 duo, the Chinese company has surely come a long way in the last few years.
To cap off the year and cement its position as one of the fastest-growing smartphone manufacturers in the world, OnePlus has introduced three shiny, new OnePlus 7T devices. We’ve already talked about the OnePlus 7T, which hit the shelves in the closing days of September. So, today, we turn our attention to its big brother, the highly-anticipated OnePlus 7T Pro.
A natural successor to the OnePlus 7 Pro, the 7T Pro combines power, performance, and aesthetic pleasure to give you a truly spectacular smartphone experience. OnePlus has also joined hands with McLaren to deliver the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition — the company’s most premium offering to date.
In terms of raw specs, OnePlus 7T Pro borrows a lot of things from its sibling, OnePlus 7T, but the design is almost identical to its predecessor, OnePlus 7 Pro. The 7T Pro ditches the tear-drop notch in favor of a pop-up selfie camera and also brings back the pill-shaped vertical, rear camera setup. 7T’s “innovative” circular camera bump got a lot of flak, with many claiming that the re-introduction of a circular camera setup was a step in the wrong direction.
7T Pro’s “safe design” is unlikely to draw such criticism, which ultimately would bode well for the Chinese OEM. The regular OnePlus 7T Pro will come in Haze Blue while the more expensive McLaren Edition 7T Pro will be available in Papaya Orange.

Having gone through the section above, it’s not difficult to figure out the section of market OnePlus is targeting. The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro were two of the most popular devices on the market at the time of launch, and the Chinese OEM is looking to replicate the feat with the 7T devices.
OnePlus knows they have escalated swiftly into the premium segment of the market and have priced their 7T Pro devices accordingly. While the regular OnePlus 7T Pro will set you back £699, the McLaren Edition has been priced a bit higher at £799. The OnePlus 7T Pro and McLaren Edition cannot be termed as affordable/cheap, for sure, but the company’s latest flagships may very well be the most capable devices on the market right now.
The 7T Pro duo was unveiled at the OnePlus Launch Event in India on October 10th, 2019. The OnePlus 7T Pro will hit the shelves on October 12 in India, October 17 in Europe, and finally, in the Middle East on October 20th. The more expensive McLaren Edition, on the other hand, will go on sale in India on November 5th. OnePlus hasn’t revealed a tentative release date in other markets.

To be honest, unless you’re really nitpicking, it’s difficult not to recommend the OnePlus 7T Pro. Yes, the device looks and handles almost identically to its predecessor, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The 7T Pro has borrowed OnePlus 7 Pro’s flawless display, attractive design, and impressive camera setup, only introducing an improved chipset. If you are not concerned about having the fastest possible chipset, OnePlus 7 Pro will serve you just fine. But if you’re adamant about having one of the fastest devices on the market, with bleeding-edge internals, look no further than the OnePlus 7T Pro.
