OnePlus 7 Android Q

OnePlus 7 Android Q update

  • Android Q DP4 update now available
  • Android Q based Open Beta powered by OxygenOS 10 expected in Oct-Nov 2019
  • Stable Android Q update is expected in November-December 2019

OnePlus 7 users can already enroll their devices into the ongoing OnePlus 7 beta testing program. We don’t know when the stable version will be available, though, but late Q3 or early Q4 2019 seems reasonable based on past experience.

Also, the device is likely to receive at least two more Android OS upgrades in Android R and Android S. This has already happened with OnePlus 3 and 3T and OnePlus 5 and 5T, the latter pair having been promised to receive Android Q, their third major OS upgrade, somewhere in 2020.

OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 10

OnePlus 7 OxygenOS 10 update

OnePlus 7 is powered by OxygenOS, which is OnePlus’s own take on custom skin. It’s the OxygenOS 9.0 that powers the OnePlus 7 handsets right now but come Android Q, the custom skin will be upgraded too, to OxygenOS 10.

OxygenOS 10 should be released as part of the Android Q update. Thus, you will get the first taste of OxygenOS 10 on your OnePlus 7 as a beta, when the first Open Beta update for the device is out (we think that would be happening by October-November 2019).

The stable OxygenOS 10 update should be available by November end, or early December 2019, based on OnePlus has fared in releasing latest software updates for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 6 in 2017 and 2018 respectively. That’s an impressive release date, in case you’re wondering.
