First “official” OnePlus 6T render crushes dreams of triple-cameras

The OnePlus 6T is perhaps one of the most anticipated flagships of this autumn. It’s expected that the phone will go official on October 17, although the company hasn’t confirmed this information just yet.

Well, while we wait for the announcement, it seems like the first alleged official render showing the 6T (in part) has leaked online courtesy of industry insider Roland Quandt of WinFuture.

The image, which was apparently submitted to the publication by a trusted source, mercilessly crushes one of the fan theories we’ve seen online as of late. If the render is genuine and indeed it appears to be, then the OnePlus 6T won’t come with a triple-camera setup on the back. Actually, the 6T’s camera seems to be very-very similar to the one currently on the 6.

This is both bad and good news. Bad because a tri-camera OnePlus 6T sounds really-really nice, and good because at least it means the price won’t get a monstrous increase this year.

That being said, you should still expect the OnePlus 6T to be a bit more expensive than the 6. After all, that has always been the case with OnePlus devices and the 6T does come with a new technology, namely the in-display fingerprint sensor.

In related news, Amazon India just confirmed that OnePlus’ next flagship will indeed be called the 6T. So far, OnePlus’ many teasers haven’t specifically mentioned the 6T moniker, but a new webpage which announces the phone is coming soon on Amazon India just revealed this to be the case.
