Lately, OnePlus is proving to be quite good with respect to software updates. The company’s latest flagship is already testing Android 9 Pie and the 2016 OnePlus 3 and 3T have been confirmed to receive the update in the coming months. Not so long ago, we saw OnePlus 5 and 5T receive the coveted Project Treble support and in the latest update that brings HydrogenOS beta 2 to the Chinese OnePlus 6, the company is even pushing it to the next level by rolling out an update with next month’s Android security patches, a week ahead of schedule.
Call it whatever you may, but OnePlus simply wants you to have the best experience, but that’s not all the latest update, which is based on Android 9 Pie, brings to the OnePlus 6. The changelog is quite long, but as you’d expect, it mostly consists of bug fixes and performance optimizations because this is beta software.

Besides the updated security patches, the update also adds a global roaming solution, improves touchscreen sensitivity and optimizes standby power consumption and stability for Bluetooth connection. For the full changelog, here are screenshots of what the update brings to the OnePlus 6.
Note that the global variant of OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS and in fact, the open beta program has yet to commence. The first HydrogenOS beta based on Android Pie rolled out last week and the Chinese ROM is now receiving a second beta update.
