Xiaomi’s smartphones not only appeal to the masses due to the premium builds and hardware specs they present to them at affordable price tags but also because of their vast support from the huge Android developers’ community across the globe.
It’s hard to come across a popular Xiaomi handset that isn’t supported on any of the many custom ROMs available today. And the latest to join the party is none other than the Redmi Note 5 Pro, a phone that has been selling for about a month or so.
Given its popularity, it was only a matter of time before the Redmi Note 5 Pro earned official TWRP recovery support and indeed it’s happening as of this writing. The TeamWin Recovery Project has made it official that the Redmi Note 5 Pro is now supported, which means the doors to rooting the phone and installing custom ROMs are now fully open.
If you are having any issues with installing TWRP recovery on your Redmi Note 5 Pro, we have every step covered here. Also, it’s worth noting that the Note 5 Pro has already received an update to Android 8.1 thanks to MIUI 9.5, but this is still limited to the Chinese market.
