Nokia 7, 7 Plus, 7.1 and 7.2 Android 10 update, security updates, and more: Android 10 beta leaked!

One of the most reputable names in the business — Nokia doesn’t have the foothold in the market as it used to, but that hasn’t kept the company from manufacturing more than capable devices. While the likes of Samsung, Google, and OnePlus are vying to capture the upper end of the market segment, Nokia has been busy populating the mid-range sector of the ever-expanding industry.

The 7-series is one of those midrange classics from the company. The devices don’t necessarily have the most jaw-dropping design or performance, but they surely provide ample value for your hard-earned money.

Currently, the company has four 7-series smartphones on the market — the oldest of the lot, Nokia 7; its bigger sibling, Nokia 7 Plus; the middle-child, Nokia 7.1; and the all-powerful Nokia 7.2. All four devices are quite capable in their own right and are quite popular in the smartphone community.

The Finnish company has been quite regular with software updates lately, making sure the devices continue to operate without a hitch. In this section, we’ll take a look at all the recent software updates — security patches, major Android OS releases, and bug fixes — rolled out for the four devices, helping you keep track of all the newly-released OTAs in one neat place.

Which Nokia 7 devices will receive Android 10?

  • Nokia 7 Plus, 7.1, and 7.2 to get Android 10 update
  • Nokia 7 Plus is set to receive 10 in February 20020, while 7.1 and 7.2 are lined up for Q4 2019 launch

Nokia 7 Plus, 7.1, and newly-released 7.2 will get updated to Android 10, but the oldest of the lot, Nokia 7 won’t be getting a taste of 10. Nokia 7, which came with Android Nougat out of the box, got two updates — Oreo and Pie, respectively — so, won’t be getting a further update this year.

As per Nokia’s announcement, the Nokia 7.1 will get Android in the 4th quarter of 2019 (before the year runs out), while the 7 Plus will receive its due upgrade in February 2020. The newest member of the family, Nokia 7.2 should also get the update in Q4 2019.
