January 23, 2019: The Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus already got their taste of Android Pie and next in line is the OG Nokia 6. The phone recently popped up on Geekbench, suggesting the testing phase had begun. And indeed, the company has just corroborated this by announcing that Nokia 6 will receive Pie soon after the OS rolls out to the Nokia 5 and Nokia 3.1 Plus this week.
This means the Nokia 6 may begin seeing Pie in early February 2019 or somewhere during the month. HMD says the update will be released once Dolby implementation is complete.
January 12, 2019: Of the three Nokia 6 variants, only the OG version has yet to get an official taste of Android 9 Pie. But from the look of things, it seems the update will arrive soon. The phone has been spotted in benchmarks running Pie, suggesting that tests and underway ahead of official release, probably somewhere this Q1 2019.

HMD Global is doing the unthinkable with respect to Android 9 Pie updates. By October 31, 2018, three Nokia devices had Android 9 Pie, two of them being the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus and the other, Nokia 7 Plus, which had had access to Pie beta since May 2018 and got the stable in late September. The Nokia 6 is also expected to join the party, but the wait may go all the way up to Q1 2019.
So far, the only trail of Nokia 6 Pie update can be traced back to Geekbench, although the company has also assured us that the rollout will begin pretty soon.
